???????????oil reserve
there is a big question in my mind that i want an answar for it>>>>>>
is there any oil reserves in the omani terretorial sea?????????????? i have read a book while i was in the SQU,,,and it included an interview between the sultan Qaboos and and a spanish equnomic magazine as i remember....................and the sultalan said that we have about 70% of oil reserves in the sea . if this is true......why dont we take advantage of it  i think that most of the other GCC(if not all) countries are using thier sea reserved oil.. THEN WHAT IS STOPPING OMAN FROM TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE SEA OIL RESERVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PEACE |

اخي الكريم .. استخراج النفط سواء من البر او من البحر مكلف جدا خصوصا في البحر .. وبما ان تكلفة استخراج النفط مرتبطة بسعر النفط .. فإن اسعار النفط في الوقت الحالي مرتفعة جدا مما يجعل عملية استخراج النفط من البحر تكون مكلفة جدا وبذلك تقلل من الفوائد والارباح... وكمية النفط المتوفرة في البر تكفي في الوقت الحالي .. واعتقد ان الحكومة الرشيدة تفكر في المستقبل البعيد .. اي ما بعد نفط البر على الاقل يكون لدينا احتياطي في البحر .. وفي النهاية هذة وجهة نظري في القضية.

To be honest I care more about the enviroment , I think they should leave the sea oil as it is and try to find other ways for investments.

offshore musandam is already given to indian company to invistigate and drill oil there they have two model that include potential for oil in tertiary rocks the first model interpreted huge amount of oil in tertiary reservoir the second model interpreted small amount of oil which might be not very economic good luck

Nice topics...and this is my job....
I should give you the answer... We DO have oil reserves offshore...and exploration is still going on.. However, drilling for production offshore is still not economic because technically it is very costly. We do have huge reserves onshore, but the question is How can we extract that oil or gas? in Oman 90% of the oil is artificially lifted, and new techniques are continuosly being introduced to produce oil at lower costs... So we are focusing now in onland operations...there is a really big challenge for us to sustain oil production... take care...

i have put my replay for a long time but it seems that they deleted it but i don't know why....and i think i gave a good answer but nevermind because its just a game that they play and we are suffering from it ...... i just want a good reason why did they delete my replay !!!!! why why why???
