Difficult question, confusing rather
I guess a director is the man of the show, he comes on top of all managers.
He "directs" what all others "manage"

A manager manages one corner of the whole job, no matter what that job is. the director "manages" what all other managers manage

what I know

A manager manages a group of workers

while a director manages the senior managers or managers.

A manager is a person who manages employees. A director is a manager who has the word "director" in his title.

Director is a someone who oversees a department and the managers within that department report to him/her.

Leader-Boss
I do not think that we have such titles as being formal or official. No one is appointed as leader or boss, in other words, we have no leaders, no bosses

It is something that we assign to a certain person when we see in him/her the potential to be a leader, to lead others, acheiving something

We tend to praise few out there, so just for the sake of some social stuff, and we call them, bosses

plus I didn't write the topic to copy members answers or include them on my work

I can see that you have negative thoughts about the managers some of them have all the specifications that you have mentioned there, but rarely we get the perfect manager.

Management can teach all of us we can be a good managers in our life it could be at home,school, colleges etc..

My take on the whole thing:

A leader is a person with an intrinsic sense of future vision and very assertive in nature…he knows where does he wants to go, the resources available for him to do so and where these resources can be utilized better and when to achieve the desired goal/s… as such his personal traits are of the ability to 1) set a vision , to 2) effectively apply the resources available to him ( Human and other resources ) and to 3) keep the motivation on. There are people who believe these things can be taught in schools and universities but I am not one of them. I think to a large extent leaders are born with certain traits that can be further improved by schooling and experiences but not created by any teaching.
