Subject : Continuation of Expected Rain over the Sultanate

The latest weather charts continue to show that unstable weather is expected to continue affecting Oman till Monday February 8th.

Moderated to heavy rains are expected by tomorrow (Saturday) over the Governorates of Musanadam and al-Buraimi and regions of al-Batinah and al-Dhahira which may extend to cover the Governorate of Muscat and al-Dakhliya region by evening.

All the local and global numerical weather prediction charts agree that the rains will be more intense and widespread on Sunday in which rains are expected over Governorates of Muscat, Musandam and al-Buraimy and regions of al-Batinah, al-Dhahira, al-Dakhilya and al-Sharqiya as well as some parts of al-Wusta region and Governorate of Dhofar.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation and Meteorology (Civil Aviation Affairs) would like to indicate that thunderstorms are likely to form which might be associated with hail and fresh downdraft winds. C
itizens and residents are advised to take precautions during the rainfall, overflow of wadis. Fishermen and sea-goers are also advise to avoid riding the sea.

Yes indeed its a bit warmer than the previous days because of the Southerly (moist and warm) winds. However, it's going to be northerly (dry and cold) just after the passage of the trough.
I'm really worry of tomorrow's thunderstorms, what can I see here is something really needs to be highly considered, so please...please be careful
