Confrontation is something
I don’t like in any situation.
I would rather walk away
than to listen to the nonsense
that some people have to say.
I guess some would wonder
if I am afraid to stand up for myself,
and if that is why I feel this way.
Heavens no, that is not why.
Angry people make me sigh.
I am strong willed and can wile words
that is sharp as a sword when I want to be heard.
I think kind words and thoughtful ways,
will get you farther on troubled days.
There are times when no matter how hard I try
to keep the peace, and feel at ease,
some people are bound to try and put me to my knees.
Sometimes I buy into their anger
and respond like they want,
but the moment I realize what is happening,
I tell myself Don’t.”
Though it take me a little while,
I give them a big smile,
and say thank you maam or sir.
They realize then, they can’t raise my fur.
Then I tell them, you have a nice day.
That’s when I laugh inside,
because they don’t know what to say.
It is so much easier to send out good energy,
than to have a confronting attitude.
They should learn to be more kind
and show more gratitude.
